A Memorial Day to Remember...NOT

For those of you who think owning a shop is ALL GLAMOR.... This weekend we replaced the waste line in our 100 year old building...A MEMORIAL DAY TO REMEMBER...NOT...Although I will never forget! Dragging 100 feet of pipe on your belly with 20 inch clearance in a dark crawl space. It took Hugh and I two days ....but thank God it is done! I hope that we never have to do anything like that again, the plumber is so underpaid. A plumber in this recession was not a choice, so we endured, prayed a lot and succeeded! As we were putting the ten foot sections of pipe under the building, Hugh got a call from his daughter Cristy...you guessed it, the new homeowner was having plumbing issues. The joys of ownership are not glamorous at times. Things that I learned, It takes washing your clothes three times to get the moldy smell out... Just throw them away, Your body hurts in places that you did not even know you had, Do not own a hundred year old building unless you have DEEP DEEP pockets, God is faithful when you just do it. Blessings Rowann
Hope you had a great Memorial Day

I got the privilege of seeing Rowann after she had climbed under the building, but she would not let me take her picture. An unforgettable Memorial Day, indeed.
So happy for you that you accomplished this goal successfully without a plumber.

OH NO!! You poor girl! And Hugh?! Oh dear - neither of you will ever be the same! At least the horror is over, hopefully the nightmares will fade away quickly.....

Thinking of you!

What is it about plumbing problems this month??? LOL We had to have Roto-Rooter to the tune of $360 for one hour because possibly roots were starting to grow in our pipes and the washing machine water was coming up in our toilets and bathtubs! I would have MUCH rather spent that money in your shop LOLOLOL
